my nephew is working at a Cracker Barrel this summer in Houston and he does not get a break of any sort unless he works 8 hours and they routinely schedule him for 7+ but nit 8 hr shifts. Seems a bit inhumane to me, but TX is a rt to work state so no union to protest!
I’ve never heard of such a thing, but I’ve never lived in Houston. I don’t know of a restaurant, chain or otherwise that does not allow a 2 15 minute breaks in a full shift-8 hours and one break in a half-time shift. I haven’t done any restaurant work since college, but that sounds like something that should be reported to the labor board, not to a union...
