Feds Keep Health Sharing ACA Exemption Secret It happened again. Often when media or government sources discuss exemptions to the Obamacare mandate, they donʼt list Christian health sharing organizations. First, I thought this was just because all nine exemptions are rarely listed. But now I wonder if itʼs because they donʼtwant people to know these organizations exist. A recent CBO report on people who will pay the uninsured penalty lists those exempt as illegal immigrants, people who donʼt have to file income tax returns, lower-income people in states that refuse to expand Medicaid, people with coverage options legally deemed “unaffordable,” Indian tribe members and those in prison. Meanwhile membership in health sharing organizations is booming.
