Best linux = almost as easy as XP.
If you want a quick and easy intro linux try RoboLinux it found both of my oddball usb nics, not an easy task!
I have heard a couple of good things about Robolinux. I’ve never tried it, though, as I am pretty well entrenched in Fedora.
Tried Robo for the virtual machine app it bragged about having set up in its default config.
Then found out if you wanted to install an actual virtual OS in their 'default' app, you had to Donate A Small Fee to use their preconfigured version.
Promptly uninstalled.
