I would’ve cracked open that door BEFORE occupying the property... Before BUYING the property. For all they knew, there were bodies or toxic waste stored down there.

I don't believe they didn't check it out before buying the property. Surely no one is that dumb.
Wonder if they've been storing stuff in there all along, and now they've called the media for the publicity? Nah... no one would do that...would they?

Imagine what fines they'd be paying if the EPA were to show up today with their big book of regs. Who buys a property without sending in the inspector and checking it out yourself? Wonder if the assessment office was charging taxes on that structrual improvement.
