1988? He has been around that long? Sorry to hear it. Been only to a few concerts where I regretted going, only because of the people in the row behind me, they would not shut up!!! Then there was a concert at the Greek with the Rippingtons, a real class act. Their front liner was a hard rock guitarist that made everyone wish the Rippingtons were back. He was so awful that I cannot even remember his name. It was Joe Satriani, and he was literally awful, twice removed. (Looked it up.) I hate that.

I love the Rippingtons and Satriani.
Very unlikely pairing for a concert, imho. It doesn’t seem like a crowd drawn to either would be an audience for both.

I saw Joe Satriani and thought he did a good job as long as he didn’t sing. It was him, a bass player, and a drum machine. Very cool. I saw Bruce Hornsby open for John Fogerty around 1986. That was pretty amazing.
