His time at a mile and a quarter in the Belmont was an astonishing 1:59 flat. In the 12 furlong Belmont..he ran the first 6 furlongs in 1:09 4/5, considered a world class time for 6 furlongs...and still won going away. Its still to me, the greatest single sports performance ever..
