Were California Chrome and Ride on Curlin the only two horses from the Preakness? It’s a lot tougher coming off that a few weeks ago.

Tonalist was coming off the Peter Pan I believe a week before the Preakness.

The California Chrome owner came off like a sore loser.

**************

I didn’t watch the interviews but he should be thankful that his $10,000 horse
took him this for into wealth and fame. He paid $8,000 for the mare and $2,000 for
the stud fee, not a bad investment. But many others do the same without any return
to speak of.

There where only three horses that all three races, Cali Chrome, Ride on Curlin. and General A Rod, as for the winner of this race the last time it ran a race and won was at this very track and that was on May 10th... So yeah the “sore loser” as some call him has a point it is cowardly to pick and choose your races only to be the spoiler...

If the NBA was like this and the Heat and the Spurs had to play 20 games in the playoffs and all of a sudden the NBA put in a fresh team and let them play all of the games at their home court playing the tired team and surprise the spurs or the Heat lose well all heck would break loose.....

That is what I thought. Tonalist was racing most of the season. He was a known “closer”...although that really wasn’t an issue today. He wasn’t really rested with fresh legs.

Heck, it’s not like he was laying around the pasture, watching fillies and munching on oats, lol.

Of course I was disappointed that Chrome didn’t win. But the poor guy ran out of steam. You can see when it happened. It’s a very long track and he was clearly winded after the Preakness.

Although I understand the owners frustration...he should have paid heed to his wife and just said “Good race” and walked away. It’s not like he won’t get a boatload of money from stud fees and the previous two races.
