The Texas Republican Party would endorse psychological treatment that seeks to turn gay people straight under a new platform partly aimed at rebuking laws in California and New Jersey that ban so-called reparative therapy on minors.
A push to include the new anti-gay language survived a key vote late Thursday in Fort Worth at the Texas Republican Convention where, across the street, tea party star U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz fired up attendees at a rally to defend marriage as between a man and a woman.
Under the new proposed plank, the Texas GOP will recognize the legitimacy and efficacy of counseling, which offers reparative therapy and treatment for those patients seeking healing and wholeness from their homosexual lifestyle.

Why shouldn’t people who want this be able to seek it out? No one is forced to. It is a matter of individual liberty, not that tje liberals care about that.
So California allows medical professionals to slice off a person’s breasts or penis and pump them full of hormones....but won’t allow someone to talk about trying to remain straight?
Sorry for the language, but what a ****ed up world we live in.
Sex change operations- science is never certain.
Would you want your daughter to marry a man “made” straight by this therapy?
You’re begging the question as to your thoughts concerning homosexuality in the first place.
And you just answered my question.
If your daughter was a lesbian would you want therapy that could possibly help her become straight to be made illegal by politicians?
I don’t think so. Your question was highly rhetorical from my observation, and you evaded answering mine.
You didn’t ask a question.
I asked you your thoughts concerning homosexuality, in the context of this thread. The behavior can be eliminated, or can it not?
I cannot answer your initial question since I do not have a daughter. But what of former male homosexuals and former lesbians pairing up?
No, I would not want that therapy to be illegal. And I would not want my son to marry a woman who had to have the therapy to be straight.
That last one is just a big basket of future trouble.
Why not? You do not believe such therapy has a chance of working?
No, not in the long term. Do you think there is any therapy that could make you gay?
The problem is they claim they’re “born that way.” There’s zero scientific evidence of such a thing, but they claim it.
The other problem is there’s thousands of former homosexuals. There should be zero former homosexuals if homosexuality was as immutable as being black, for instance. That’s why they get slobbering angry anytime a former homosexual tries to tell their story. That proves their delusional claims are the lies they are.
So you believe that homosexuality is innate?
Yes. Do you believe heterosexuality is innate?
Have a nice day.
“Scared straight?”
