Although we live on a little less than a quarter if an acre, I have enough space for plenty if gardens. We enjoy fresh food in the summer, and the rest of the year we are self-sufficient on potatoes, onions, garlic, canned tomatoes, and enough frozen peas and corn to use as ingredients in recipes. I drive by two sets of HUD on my way to and from work, and these projects have lots of open space. I’ve yet to see a garden. I see plenty of broken outdoor toys steen about, but never gardens.
