With a name like mountainlion, I’m curious if you’re trolling?
Windows 8.1 is practically a requirement by Microsoft now. It fixes a LOT of the issues from 8.
I’m using 8.1.1 on my home machine and work laptop, and I’m growing fond of it. It’s very easy to create shortcuts for complex tasks, and being a PowerShell nerd, I love that I can script things like event log dumps and WMI data pulls.
Upgrade to 8.1. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

I have been dealing with computers for 40 years. I have been through FORTRAN, FORTRAN 77,machine language, Basic, Lenix Basic, Windows 3.0... , Windows 95,98, XP, Vista and now 8 and 8.1 and now you say 8.11. Luckily I missed the ones in between. Are they ever going to get it right? Younger persons using the latest cell phones are used to it and have no problems. I am tired of the changes which I see as nothing more than marketing gemmics to sell products.
