Just read the post, it would sure save time. I DIDN’T suggest that I installed a new operating system on a computer, I said that “I” went directly from XP to 8.1, and that I have no complaints.

I went straight from XP to 8.1 and have no complaints, I like it better.

Actually that is poor wording on your part as saying “I went directly from XP to 8.1 does imply it was an OS re-installation not that you bought a second computer with a different OS on it. You should have mentioned you bought a second computer. Leaving that out was your first mistake.
