“This is damn rare,” Thomas Fuxborg said later, as he dined on fresh elk steak.

Would woodwork work as a deterrent?

We had a deer get in our garage in the middle of the night once, and we woke to glass breaking and all kinds of commotion.

The thing went absolutely NUTS when it thought it was trapped. A HUGE mess, blood everywhere. It eventually got out but it very well could have bled out in the woods.

In Sweden, it's not unheard of for an elk to wander into towns and get into trouble. In 2011, an elk walked into a home for the elderly (see picture) in Alingsås.

I had an Elk dressed up as a moose try to sell me a Rolex once. "Best Quality, Best Quality, snort, snort, winny)"

This one happened when we were living in Alaska. He was rather calm about it.

Is it an elk? Is it a moose? If you’re in Sweden, the answer is “BOTH”! The iconic, majestic forest dweller Alces alces is known as a moose in North America (actually the sub-species Alces alces americana) and an elk in Europe.

Yep. In the USA, we call the animal a moose. In Sweden, they call the same animal an elk. Go figure.
