What else does it do? Got to start somewhere. First objective mobility, next enhanced functionality.

Great. Only one person on earth is possibly capable of outrunning it.

I’m sure that a handful of small ball bearings in it’s path of pursuit would render it on it’s Velociputushi and harmless pretty quick.

Great. Only one person on earth is possibly capable of outrunning it. And it would be just my luck if attacked by one of these to be walking with Usain Bolt.

“Our new ‘Raptor’ will be used only in dangerous situations where police officers could not survive, such as toxic gas clouds and fires.” — Press release from your State Police ten years from now
“The death of 80-year-old Sara Smith is regrettable. Apparently, our information that a drug dealer was living in this house was incorrect. But let me repeat: the use of the ‘Raptor’ in this situation did not violate any department policies.” — Statement from your State Police SWAT commander ten years plus one month from now

Seems slow. The only objective test would be to Jurassic Park a real velociraptor and try it out against Usain Bolt.

It is connected to a boom. Now the Big Dog, slower but navigates over things, jumps, recovers from slips and the in lab tests use a tether with slack. No this is balance assisting by a boom, taking a huge part of the actual running equation out.

That’s hard to believe. Cheetahs never win.
