After Minnesota became one of the first states in the Midwest to legalize same-sex marriage, it became a new travel hot-spot.
According to the New York Times, Minneapolis is now on the list of up and coming LGBT places to visit, especially with the Pride celebration coming up.
New York Times completed the survey after talking with gay and lesbian travel experts.
It estimates the annual economic impact of LGBT travelers to be about $70 billion a year in the United States.
Other cities on the hot spot list include Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the Big Island on Hawaii, and Pittsburgh.
It should be there now... twice! I made some sort of mistake. :)
Make a note, wear a warning bracelet, get a tattoo.
Home of Mark Dayton, Betsy Hodges, Al Franken, Amy Kloubuchar, Keith Ellison...
There is no stupider city between the Hudson River and the Sierra Nevadas.
Kloubuchar = Klobuchar
Does Eureka Springs still have its passion play? It will be the next to go if it hasn’t already.
Minneapolis has more off-the-boat Muslims than anywhere else; Somalis.
Go on LGBT Morons, make sure you vacay there and let everyone (especially your cabdriver) know why you are there.
I would like to visit MN because MN, IA, and ND are the only states in which I have never been, excpept for HI and AK. I have been to such a small part of RI that I probably should claim that one either. Same for “Red Hampshire”. But quite a bit of ME and VT.
Didn’t our little Republican Party go to Minneapolis for a convention in 2008? They never got any credit!
AR is changing, and Pryor is back in the Senate lead as I understand it.
LBGTABCXYZ and whatever else they’ll come up with.
In the (w)hole, they may have a point.
Exactly...
Agenda, agenda, agenda.
...snork...
Minnesota was (and in parts still is) a lovely and friendly place but is hideously misgoverned out of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
its good to know where NOT to go absolutely.....if they make money for the city, its because they are free of responsibilies that the rest of us take on....
so those much-advertised Swedish girls can’t compete?
I hear there’s a restroom at the airport...the code is to tap your toe.
You can only get there through one of the tunnels....
Eureka Springs is a resort town about 40 miles east of me-gay as all get-out! They’ve lost a lot of business because of that. A lot of people mistakenly show up there during one of their various “Diversity” weekends. I made that mistake not once, but twice!
I’ve never even heard of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Isn’t that where Larry Craig had his little incident?
(BTW, he should have used the “speech and debate” clause in his defense — he was on his way to the Capitol to perform his official duties, just changing planes there. Unless there was more to it than we’ve been told.)
