Huy Fong Foods, which produces the iconic sriracha hot sauce emblazoned with a strutting rooster, can breathe a sigh of relief.
The local city council, which had been collecting complaints about unseemly odors emanating from the companys Irwindale, California factory, has officially dropped its public-nuisance order and lawsuit against it.
But Huy Fong Foods may have another headache on the horizon: Tabascos new sriracha, which the company quietly launched earlier this year.
Sriracha hails from Thailand, and although it tends to feature a slightly different recipe stateside, the name typically refers to a sauce containing chilies which are ground into a paste before being preserved in vinegar, salt, and garlic. So Huy Fong Foods doesnt own the name sriracha.

I watched a guy named L.A.Beast down three bottles of this stuff in one of his numerous YouTube videos. He drank it like it was water. He also drank a gallon of Habanero style Tabasco sauce in another video.
He threw up violently both times.
I love Sriracha, and I love Tabasco (haven’t tried the new stuff, though). From what I gather about Mr. Tran, The Huy Fong founder, he will welcome the competition, as it will introduce more people to his concept, and expand his market. “A rising tide lifts all boats” type of approach. Thanks !
Cholula, is better, but Tapatio is more affordable, and made here, in The USA. If I am eating out, I grab the Cholula bottle (included in the price), but at the market, I go for Tapatio, every time ! :)

i think cholula is double the price, but it is better.

The Sriracha guy named his company Huy Fong foods simply because that was the name of the boat his group used to escape Vietnam.
I’m serious.
He used to manually spoon in the paste to each bottle, and at first he had just that one spoon.
He personally made all the deliveries in the L.A. area is his personal vehicle, a van.
He really did build that, and the left hates him
When I was in the hospital, the chow hall had packets of Tabasco and Cholula. I always asked for some of each. Still have a few.

Watched this online don’t watch tv,i love Tabasco have at least 4 bottles in storage “in case something happens”,the wife says i am crazy.

Tabasco should stick with what they do best... Tabasco sauce. There is NO substitute for Huy Fong Foods Siracha sauce. Hot sauces are all different and different flavors compliment different foods. Vietnamese sub sandwiches (Banh Mi) and pad thai require Siracha as the final touch. However, I still prefer Tabasco on my eggs and hash browns.
Not familiar with Valentina, will have to try it. I used to buy Cholula, but like most folks, since 2009, I’ve had to tighten the economic belt. Thanks for your reply !

I've never run across the peppers themselves but Mrs. OP found Ghost pepper flakes on Amazon and got me a bottle. That stuff is unbelievably hot and I love hot!
BTW, a doctor long ago told me that you cannot damage your stomach with spicy foods. Upset it? Yeah, but not damage it.
