James Randi, though an atheist, gave a scathing and humorous TED talk on psychics and other scams. He alluded to Sylvia Brown, one of his targets of ridicule, dismissing him as “godless”. Worth watching.
An atheist dismissed someone as “godless”? I would think an atheist would dismiss EVERYONE as godless.
I’m not sure who’s “godless”, since I think Randi is an atheist who’s made lots of enemies. But most of the enemies he made are people who needed to be called out.
The late Sylvia Brownes biggest goof was with Amanda Berry, one of the girls imprisoned by the Castro guy in Ohio for 10 years. She told Berrys mother that her daughter was dead, and the woman died thinking this.
Browne had done a similar thing with a missing boy named Shawn Hornbeck a few years earlier.
