As others have noted, normal daily activities cause the body to excrete/eliminate oils and fluids. Underwear is one place where these oils or fluids collect, in hopefully small amounts. Nevertheless, harmful bacteria can form and other clothing can be cross contaminated.

Decades of inventions have brought us to a time when we all can have clean clothes and bodies. I find it disgusting that some choose to stink. (Not talking about people who are medically sensitive to certain chemicals and smells, etc)

There’s a big difference between not showering for 5 days and wearing pants 5 times without laundering them. Your clothes drier draws a ton of amps. The less you run it the better. As a frugal family of 5 we try and save in easy areas.
