When my sister was menstruating she’d be in debilitating pain, soaked in sweat and basically in bed for three days. She was a major in the Air Force’s OSI. (The first woman in the OSI.) So, three days of each month she was out sick. And, I mean SICK. I don’t recall that she ever said it was a problem with her boss. Quite frequently, the doctors laughed at her, simply not believing the problem was real. Trust me. It was real.
Did she see a dr. for that? I knew someone with those difficulties who needed an ablation. I find the whole thing quite ‘last century’ myself. If you can’t deal, just get a Mirena, for cryong out loud!
I know some ladies that get Cyclic Migraines when their period begins every month...
Some women have lot of additional issues with their periods...
Thankfully, I can work from home on certain days but I pretty much suffer the same as your sister. But there are days when I have to attend a meeting or travel for work & I just tough it out. Every woman is different & it’s no joke to go through what your sister did & I do on a monthly basis.
Btw, you must be a proud brother :) amazing resume your sister has.
I believe it was real for your sister. I had cramps, violent diarrhea, and vomiting. I didn’t get much done at work one day per month. Thank goodness the deep awfulness went away after I had my first child, though it was still no picnic. So grateful all that is over with and I feel good all the time.
Now it’s my daughter’s turn. I’m so sorry to see that she has some of the same issues. She is a very hard-driving and determined young woman, but she is miserable one day and sleep-deprived for two days.
It’s not like we want to be this way. Pain is no fun. The whole situation is infuriating.
She is the exception to the rule - the trouble is, once we start accommodating the extreme cases, the gates open and anyone who claims the slightest discomfort gets a free ride on the bus.
