MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. - A 38-year-old woman on a family trip to the beach was attacked by a shark Thursday morning off Brevard County.

This could of easily been avoided by staying out of the water.

Duh, we all know that. A car accident could be avoided by never getting into a car, or even a bus. Those who never cook won't ever burn a dinner. The list is endless.
I'm very sorry for the woman's attack. It is horrifying, so I guess we should stick to the swimming pools. Our choice.

I once got a Hell of an infection simply from dipping my head in a pool on a hot day.
This could have been avoided had I not dipped my head in said pool! There is danger all around us it seems.
To this day I do not go in public pools at all...but I do go into the Gulf of Mexico :D
I went to college in Melbourne and used to go swimming at Melbourne Beach and Indian Harbour all the time. Guess I was lucky!
