In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
eidetic \eye-DET-ik\ adjective
marked by or involving extraordinarily accurate and vivid recall especially of visual images
Example sentences:
Thanks to her eidetic memory, Kirsten was able to recall every last detail of what happened that night, including the colors of each person's outfit.
"Jason Bateman, making his feature directing debut after directing episodes of his 'Arrested Development' series, plays an adult who uses a loophole to enter a spelling bee and whose eidetic memory all but guarantees he will win if he chooses."
From a movie review by Duane Dudek in the Journal Sentinel (Milwaukee), March 27, 2014
Etymology:
"Eidetic" is the technical adjective used to describe what we more commonly call a photographic memory. The word ultimately derives from the Greek noun "eidos," meaning "form." The ability of certain individuals to recall images, sounds, or events with uncanny accuracy is a subject of fascination for researchers in the field of psychology. Among notable people who were reputed to have eidetic memories is the late television comic Jackie Gleason, who reportedly was able to memorize an entire half-hour script in a single reading.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

WFB's attempt to emulate us ; ) No pushing at the door please!
That dress looks like it could be worn again.
70 and rain today. Then lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s for the next 3-4 days.
very much so. it’s very classic and elegant. very audrey hepburnish, which is xsteen’s taste. she LOVES a peplum, which is that little skirt looking dealio at the waist. Bet you didn’t know what didja?
Me? I didn’t even know what “garnet” was for sure.
so there ya go, you learned two things today. what a peplum is, and what color garnet is.
Thank you!
The rain stopped early yesterday here, but we got a very welcome 3 inches, which the ground soaked up because it was nice, slow rain-so no flooding.
We are supposed to be 76-82, with nights in the low to mid 50’s-a bit cool for May here...
And what the “summer national sport” of Canada is!
Very lovely-and practical bridesmaids dress-a nice cocktail/dinner dress, too-a big hand for xsteen and her good taste and sense...
The cub picked sensible bridesmaids dresses the second time around, as well as the wedding dress that she had made-well worth the bridezilla moment in the fabric store during a fire...
The first dresses for bridesmaids were like something from a fairy tale-all ruffles and frou frou, and the wedding dress a purchased fancy label thing of lace, encrusted with faux pearls, beads, etc that looked like something from My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, and had her sweating and itching before the reception even started...

Guy fakes blindness and steals a diamond ring.
Check his name.
Nothing suspicious or fake about that, huh?
No, Tauraus Centaur is his real name!
He used a bland fake name during his con.
I was inferring that it was a dumb scam either way-once he is ID’d the name won’t be forgotten.
Cannot be real!

Maybe it’s not the name he was born with, but it is his legal name now.
Ethnic?

I’d guess this is the same Taurus Centaur.
Was there a character on some sitcom with that name? Maybe WKRP ? Maybe it was the guys real name.
There was an actor in some TV series once with an implausible name like that, but I don’t remember what show he was in.
And it sounds like a name for a semi-macho Ford SUV...
Actually I think I'm a style over even no substance type. If I had to be a ghost, for instance, I'd want to be a stylish ghost.
