Kasey is worth an estimated $80 million dollars. I sense that’s behind all this.
Sad to watch when family fights over money.
See, when you come out of those up-tempo goddamn numbers, man, its impossible to make those transitions, and then you gotta go into somebody dying. You know, they do this to me all the time. I dont know what the hell they do it for, but God damn it if we cant come out of a slow record. I dont understand it. Is Don on the phone? Okay. I want a goddamn concerted effort to come out of a record that isnt a f*cking up-tempo record every time I do a goddamn death dedication! Now make itand I also wanna know what happened to the pictures I was supposed to see this week! This is the godlast goddamn time. I want somebody to use his f*cking brain to not come out of a goddamn record that isthats up-tempo and I gotta talk about a f*cking dog dying!
Me, too. He was the Wolfman Jack of my g-g-generation.
Don’t know the first thing about them so I couldn’t judge.
I’m so jealous!!
Yeah, ask Cliff Price.
Sounds like a job for Scooby Doo and Mystery Incorporated!
Maybe we should do a long distance dedication.
He's a lefty, involved in such causes as the 1986 "Great Peace March for Global Nuclear Disarmament"--a cross-country protest march that started in Los Angeles and got all the way to Sidewinder Rd., just beyond Victorville, Calif.
“Sometimes second spouses just would like to pretend the previous marriage and the children issued from it didnt exist, for their OWN selfish reasons.”
I know nothing about that... I’ve never had a second marriage.
A Letter from Elaina--Casey Kasem (1964)
So sorry your spouse is suffering Parkinsons. My father in law had it, and as you say, it’s no picnic. It’s hell.
Looking at the Kasem situation from the perspective you present, it’s not unlike Nancy Reagan’s handling of the former president as Alzheimers made its devastating way through his mind. But, as to his own children, I tend to think they should be allowed to see him if that’s what they want. The stepmother could provide a caregiver to be present for those visits if she’s worried about them doing something.
But what can they do? The older ‘children’ have trusts, and apparently his will leaves everything to her. No one can challenge anything done now because of the “sound mind’ requirement of executing a will. Man, can family situations get ‘complicated!’
Surprise, surprise. The Judge Judys come out to laud or tear down the “greedy” kids. Or the “greedy” second wife. Or the “greedy” first wife. Not a word of reproach for the guy who started the ball rolling: THE RICH GUY WHO REMARRIES.
Of course your second wife is going to want it all. Why shouldn’t she? And absent a will or trust that says otherwise, the law is entirely on her side. You think she wants your kids to get a penny? You’re an idiot.
A divorced or widowed man with grown children who remarries is selfish as hell. Second marriages do nothing nothing but sow discord for two generations.
Why can’t we have a little more honesty about where the blame lies?
So you want him to have sex while unmarried?
You do know what forum this is, right?
Thanks...
“But, as to his own children, I tend to think they should be allowed to see him if thats what they want.”
I think it’s not what “they” want, but what he wants... If she is his guardian, she’s going to have to speak for him. In Parkinson’s cases where the voice is gone, often only the caregiver can understand the speech. That’s the way it is with my spouse. And I get less than 50%.
“Yes, I hid him on an Indian Reservation! And I would have got away with it, except for those meddlesome kids!!”
There’s no law that says you have to replace your sex partner if you’re widowed or divorced.
Lots of people do without. You don’t HAVE to take Viagra. Get a library card and spare your children the angst.
Only other reason I can think of is to cover his medical care. Casey is in the late stages of Parkinson’s and probably requires round-the-clock care. That isn’t cheap, and probably isn’t covered by his medical insurance. On the other hand, if he was worth $80 million before he got sick, that should be enough to cover the medical bills and support him in very comfortable surroundings for the rest of his life.
I’d say your theory is spot on...sell the house, liquidate other holdings and move the cash off-shore. Jean’s career hasn’t exactly gone places in the last 15 years or so, and she’s making sure she gets most of Casey’s fortune, to maintain her Hollywood lifestyle.
You sure are fond of man-made laws. Never mind funny stuff like trying to suppress an urge that there is no moral imperative to suppress.
As usual, it’s all about the money.
