Does a "legitimate redistribution" of wealth include the Vatican archives, Vatican library...?

It isn’t that the Vatican has wealth, or the magnitude of their wealth. It’s that we should collectively decide how to distribute that wealth. I nominate the UN to decide this. I propose a 100% tax on Vatican wealth and let the representatives decide on how it should be equitably be distributed. Step one would be for the Vatican bank to open its books to UN representatives.

I would assume that your inane statement is sarcasm at its best. I wouldn't open my books to the U.N. thugs and no one else should either.....they should have no authority over anything.

I would post the Scripture references for you, but you probably wouldn't read them

The reason that you could post scripture references is that the Catholic Church preserved them through the ages and gave you a bible containing both old and new testaments. The protestants tossed out a few that they didn't like, but if you get a good Catholic version of the Bible, you'll have them all.Since the Catholic Church interpreted them, wrote them, copied them (by hand) for 1,600 years before there were any Protestants, she pretty well knows what's in them......say "Thanks Catholics".......you're welcome.

The reason that you could post scripture references is that the Catholic Church preserved them through the ages ...

The Jews have a proper Yiddish term:

chutz·pa [khoot-spuh, hoot-]
noun Slang.
1. unmitigated effrontery or impudence; gall.
2. audacity; nerve.

The ACTUAL reason that you could post scripture references is that the Holy Spirit inspired and preserved them through the ages. Your post only reinforces the need for reality in the search for truth.

Again, we see an excellent example of a cult trying to establish it's superiority to the foundations of faith. God is the author. God is the Preserver. God is the Only place for proper credit.

The Roman Catholic organization is the antithesis and a poseur. It has been able to deceive many for so long, and that is the nature of Satanic authority. Rat poison... (ref: see post 49)

Scripture was around long before the time you claim. Paul wrote a letter to Timothy, and we can see:

2 Timothy 3: ...14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

And TRADITION; too!

Write your books about how I'm damned to hell all you want. You just make me a stronger Catholic in your lunacy.

HMMMmmm...

Origen

"If someone from this people wants to be saved, let him come into this house so that he may be able to attain his salvation. . . . Let no one, then, be persuaded otherwise, nor let anyone deceive himself: Outside of this house, that is, outside of the Church, no one is saved; for, if anyone should go out of it, he is guilty of his own death" (Homilies on Joshua 3:5 [A.D. 250]).

Cyprian of Carthage

Whoever is separated from the Church and is joined to an adulteress [a schismatic church] is separated from the promises of the Church, nor will he that forsakes the Church of Christ attain to the rewards of Christ. He is an alien, a worldling, and an enemy. He cannot have God for his Father who has not the Church for his mother" (The Unity of the Catholic Church 6, 1st ed. [A.D. 251]).

"Let them not think that the way of life or salvation exists for them, if they have refused to obey the bishops and priests, since the Lord says in the book of Deuteronomy: ‘And any man who has the insolence to refuse to listen to the priest or judge, whoever he may be in those days, that man shall die’ [Deut. 17:12]. And then, indeed, they were killed with the sword . . . but now the proud and insolent are killed with the sword of the Spirit, when they are cast out from the Church. For they cannot live outside, since there is only one house of God, and there can be no salvation for anyone except in the Church" (Letters 61[4]:4 [A.D. 253]).

Lactantius

"It is, therefore, the Catholic Church alone which retains true worship. This is the fountain of truth; this, the domicile of faith; this, the temple of God. Whoever does not enter there or whoever does not go out from there, he is a stranger to the hope of life and salvation. . . . Because, however, all the various groups of heretics are confident that they are the Christians and think that theirs is the Catholic Church, let it be known that this is the true Church, in which there is confession and penance and which takes a health-promoting care of the sins and wounds to which the weak flesh is subject" (Divine Institutes 4:30:11–13 [A.D. 307]).

Jerome

"Heretics bring sentence upon themselves since they by their own choice withdraw from the Church, a withdrawal which, since they are aware of it, constitutes damnation. Between heresy and schism there is this difference: that heresy involves perverse doctrine, while schism separates one from the Church on account of disagreement with the bishop. Nevertheless, there is no schism which does not trump up a heresy to justify its departure from the Church" (Commentary on Titus 3:10–11 [A.D. 386]).

It gives a nod to Christ, but gives His mother equal standing as a co-redemtress.

Let's try some easy math:

There are approximately 1.2 billion Catholics world wide;

If merely 1% of them  'ask' Mary for help just once each day;

that means that 12 million separate prayers are headed Mary's direction every day.

Given that there are 86,400 seconds per day... (24 hours times 60 minutes times 60 seconds)

...that means that Mary has to handle approximately 139 'requests' per second!

Purty good fer someone NOT 'devine'!

So I ended up a Catholic that doesn’t tithe but gives to charity regularly.

I'm a Wesleyan that resides under this umbrella:

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
