I use to see Koreans in South Korea picking plants all the time to eat in the late 70’s while stationed there. Mainly women or old men did this but a KATUSA showed me what plants they were picking. On Holidays I saw old people doing this with their grand children to teach them the plants to look for. Also bathing in rivers and irrigation canal was common as farming was hot sweaty dirty work and they finish cleaning up at home.

These photos taken in North Korea like those taken in Cuba show the utter failure of Communism.
Personally, I like the idea of kids DOING SOME WORK, rather than playing video games every day, as they do here.
...but, of course, there is a limit as to what is humane.
