Has always seemed more like Hank I to me than Hank Jr ever did. Hank I was more about authenticity and honest, raw emotion than “Nashville”, he would probably have gotten along better with Bon Scott or Johnny Ramone than with the corporate ass-clowns who wrecked country music after his death.
David lee Roth wrote ‘ been to the edge- there I stood and looked down”, Hank *DID ^go to the edge, and came back to write about it. You won’t find professional musician of any genre, from reggae to bebop to thrash who will deny that.
