Abuse, I’d point out, that is actually pretty silly.
If you’d come out here with an “I love the environment, the government should make you love it too by forcing everyone to buy Leafs (er, Leaves?)” then I’d have a probem.
But it sounds like you did your homework, knew your needs and did proper cost/benefit and return on investment analysis. In other words you made an informed and rational choice based on objective criteria and fact.
Conservatives shouldn’t have any problem with that.
One question tho: what other electric/hybrid options did you explore, and how did they factor into your eventual choice?

Didn’t look at any other EV. Three other hardcore smart conservatives in the office got Leafs (they all basically said “duh - get one already!”), the Volt is the only equivalent and that’s a joke from Obama administration’s involvement, the Tesla is just way too expensive, the Leaf has great reviews, and the math easily added up to $free. It was a no-brainer.
