I have the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 (not the newer S5). The iPhone is an amazing device, but the Samsung is simply better.

My last two phones were Samsungs, and I will switch to an iPhone the first chance I have. The Samsungs have been like ‘Easter eggs’, all bright and colorful when I first got them, but with decreasing functionality and emerging glitches that became more and more evident as time went on. I bought the second one because the dealer acknowledged the issues with the first, and went on and on about how improved the new Samsung was, and how it was better than an iPhone.

For me, the ‘whole package’ of the iPhone is better. There might be faster CPU speed on a particular Samsung, more pixels on the camera, a better screen etc. etc., but the ‘whole’ doesn't stick together functionally any where near as smoothly as an iPhone.
