A Dallas woman might have been killed if she wasnt carrying her firearm last week. Police say Angela Martin, 44, shot and killed a man who began stabbing her during an altercation on Friday.
Martin, who is the assistant manager at the Dallas apartment complex where the incident occurred, was arguing with an unidentified female resident while sitting in her car when things started to get heated.
The womans husband, identified as 52-year-old Louis Rodriguez, eventually got involved in the altercation.
When she started to feel unsafe, Martin says she retrieved her handgun from her purse and placed it on her lap. She stayed inside her vehicle.

Civilized society thanks you, ma’am.
“When she started to feel unsafe, Martin” should have driven away.
When she started to feel unsafe, Martin should have driven away.
The article does not say she could or could not get away.
Glad your crystal ball is so clear that you can see she even could have driven away.
What, she couldn’t vomit or pee?
“When she started to feel unsafe, Martin should have driven away.”
And leave her husband behind?
As it is, she provided a service to society by killing a feral. I know we’ll all sleep a little safer tonight.

Sorry the brother got shot if he was trying to stop the attack, but what crossfire? There was no gun battle going on that I read in the article. And I knew someone was going to blame her for not running away, but I think she did right by staying in her car. It is the other woman's husband that caused the physical altercation. Some people may believe in running away, but that doesn't always save you.

She has a right to do her job; he has no right to stab anyone.
Or roll up the window. Always best to get out of a situation if you can. Otherwise you could get stabbed...
She could have called the cops and they would have arrived in a hour or so, shoot a dog or two and arrested her for some trumped up charge.
But she did everyone a favor and reduced the world of another moron.
This is why it’s important to kill feral beings when the opportunity presents itself: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3152555/posts
Yes. Always running scenarios, trying to learn from others mistakes. :)

Semper Fidelis.
Comment fully deserved. You may surrender your freedoms to the criminal element all you want but stop trying to peddle the idea that the cowardice you embrace is the path everyone else should take.
Perhaps you meant to post your little quip on one of Bloomberg’s sites.
Doubtless they would applaud your “wizzdom”.
“She has a right to do her job; he has no right to stab anyone.”
Perhaps he was the walking, talking, stabbing inspiration for “Mr. Stabby” of youTube fame?
She’s the assistant manager so had job related reason to be there and interacting with the residents. I however would have driven away if it was possible.
The ‘I carry a weapon’ attitude is not particular to cops.
Just another one of life’s teachable moments. “Don’t go to a gunfight carrying a knife”.
Quoting Ben Franklin, "Experience keeps a dear school, but a fool will learn in no other."
Wonder where she'd be now, if she hadn't had that piece?
