So our last report saw Mexican troops invading our borders -- even drawing weapons on our agents on U.S. soil -- and facing absolutely no consequences by the Obama Adminstration.
But let one American make a wrong turn into Mexico -- and there will be hell to pay.
That's exactly what happened to a U.S. Marine veteran last month, after he accidentally drove into Mexico with three legally owned guns in his truck. And he has been rotting in a brutal Mexican jail in Tijuana ever since.
California Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter sent a letter Friday to Secretary of State John Kerry asking him to secure the release of Afghanistan war veteran Andrew Tahmooressi, who had just moved to San Diego from Florida and had all his belongings in his truck, including his pistol, shotgun and rifle, when he missed the last U.S. exit on April 1, forcing him to cross the border.
Road closures because of checkpoints and construction added to the confusion, and there was no opportunity for drivers to turn around, Hunter added.

Have not been in a while, myself, to Mexico, but I have never been stopped, by U.S. Officials, leaving here, my only encounter with U.S. Customs was upon reentering the USA. Thanks!
With the presidential election season soon to start, I think another purge is due.
And how. I'm surprised there hasn't been a comment about how this Marine is probably a homosexual, too, since every single thread involving any servicemembers for any reason has to have a dozen or so of those particular a$$holes. Drives me nuts.
Oh good grief, don’t take things you see on the internet so seriously. Don’t you know about the rivalry between Sailors & Marines?
No and yes.
No and yes.
Sign the petition for his release...the 28th???
Tahmooressi’s trial is expected to begin on May 28. A WhiteHouse.gov petition has been posted to demand his release and a Facebook page “Free USMC Sgt Tahmooressi from Mexican Jail” has also been set up to support the soldier.
We could do a prisoner exchange,a million illegals for one Marine?
I'm an old Army guy who doesn't believe in any of that inter-service rivalry stuff...except during the Army/Navy Game. All branches have an important job to do and they all do it damn well. It's my understanding that where this guy got confused is,in fact,a poorly designed, poorly maintained and confusing stretch of road.I don't know about you but I've taken wrong turns before...just never near an international border.
Pfffft...
I don't know how things were way back when but I've never seen that recently. The only international border I've ever crossed over land is the US/Canadian border.I've done so in various places...North Dakota,Michigan,New York,Vermont and Maine.I've never had to go through any US checkpoint or customs office before entering Canada. You just cross the border and the road leads directly to a Canadian immigration post.
Except in Kalifornia he would of been executed for having rifles in his vehicle and stopping on the highway.
As a Marine mom, and Gold Star sister (Army Vietnam) the response is really heart breaking. At least do what I did and read as many sources as you can to get what happened. I’m trying to sign the petition at the White House knowing full well more info will be added to my NSA/FBI file, but bring him home and get him the help he needs.
Shows who is really dumb. The only inter-family rivalry, if you want to call it that, between my remaining brothers and son is that the bro who served in the Air Force busts on my son about joining the Corps because he told him if you don’t want to get shot at, join the AF (no longer applicable, though). My other brother who served in the Navy on a sub is my prayer partner.
Even if it were a death penalty offense, he’d be better off in a Calif Prison, as opposed where he is now; plus, as a death penalty inmate, he would likely die of old age ;)
He has been having issues since being back, and has PTSD. He was on his way to see a friend for lunch. The friend lives in San Ysidro, an area on the border. He missed his exit, and now lives in fear for his life in a Mexican jail with contract killers around him. And some people here have no sympathy, suggest he may have been lying about where he was going, and he should not live in San Diego or have friends in San Diego. Probably the same folks who don't mind SWAT teams in the Dept of Education.

That’s better.
Some people just don’t know what this forum is all about.
They pretend to be liberty loving conservatives but in reality are godless sociopathic pseudo-libertarian @$$#0£`$
On the plus side, it saves us having to visit DU to find out what the enemy is thinking.
I feel deceptive—just a wife. You do know why the Marines and Army have wives, right? To kick squid and wingnut arse. :p
They’re too busy.
