They did this in Austin in March of 2013. I don’t see any infringement on my personal liberty. It is about 99% of a non-issue. We just make sure we have bags before we leave the car (we keep them in the trunk). I haven’t paid for a new bag in 8 months.
Personally I’d like to see a $250 fine for dropping cigarette butts on the ground. I get tired of seeing those disgusting things everywhere.

I have NEVER paid for a bag. That's the idea. I don't have to buy a bag to carry my groceries into my house. I also get to use the bags for other purposes.

Defense of freedom is bigger than just you and your own lifestyle. You should never feel that others must make the same decisions that you do-that’s unAmerican. You need to wise up because the next freedom the emboldened Austin Council swipes might be one you really will miss.
