“Let’s say there is a homeowner who believes in carrying a firearm on his person, and he believes in using deadly force to protect himself and his property. Suddenly he is confronted by an armed burglar. The homeowner draws his pistol and fires, missing the suspect. The suspect returns fire, killing the homeowner. By your creed, “you really could care less” because: “Live by the sword, die by the sword.” “

Not the same at all. The home owner isn’t eager for his kill in life. Cops are. The home owner doesn’t work himself up into a paranoid condition. Cops do work themselves up. Look at the bitch who killed a kid holding a wii. Her fear was uncontrolled. Same with those in the Dorner hunt. And many other incidents.

There is no sense of reasonable fear among LE, and no sense of the harm they cause. It is always “Awww, shucks. At least the cop made it home. That is all that matters.”

When cops don’t value our lives, why should we value theirs?

The situations are different. The point is "Live by the gun, die by the gun." If it applies to one officer, it must logically apply to anyone else who is armed with a gun.

Much of the rest of your post is the run of the mill emotional generalizations, and are not worthy of further discussions.
