i would not call him the "new leader singer" at this point... when i first saw the title, i thought--another new leader singer? already? but aside from that, i saw Journey in concert most recently in 2011... i was skeptical about the new lead singer because i had seen his performance of "Faithfully" on Good Morning America, and i was not impressed... however, when i saw the band in concert in October 2011, i was very much impressed... not just with his voice--he sounds a lot like Steve Perry, but with his charismatic performance... i loved it!

It’s not Journey without Steve Perry.

Like I say in the post. I’m coming into this story late, but I know from talking to people that there are alot of people who still think Steve Perry is singing, who are clueless.
The documentary came out over a year ago, so even with that this is an old story, but I contend that there are alot of people like me who were never big Journey fans, and complacent about their music.
The songs are definitely almost perfect. The doc also shows how truly professional these guys are, but there again Arnel Pineda was honing his craft for over 20 years. It’s a wonder he didn’t “burn out” before getting his chance.
BTW, does anyone know why Steve Perry quit the band?
