That must’ve been a heck of a show. Even though without Fast Eddie, the swing has gone out of live Motorhead music; Phil Campbell doesn’t have the same feel.
Can’t believe Blackmore is still burned out on the hard rock sound though. He doesn’t have Jon Lord (another RIP) around to jam with anymore; that was one musician that could keep him grounded somewhat.
I walked in when Motorhead was already playing. Every time Mickey Dee hit the bass drum, it was like a kid punching my chest. I’ve never again felt so much bass from the bass drum at any other show. Motorhead was looooooud.
If you watch some of his Blackmores Night videos, he teases with his electric fairly frequently, sending the fanboys off into screaming spasms that he’s coming back to hard rock.
While I would welcome it as a pleasant surprise, I don’t see it happening. He actually seems happy and settled with what he is doing now. Those two words never entered into any of his other enterprises.
