I saw this while checking my email on Yahoo. This sounds like it could be a major breakthrough in the treatment of heart disease. I'm surprised this isn't a bigger story. If there is something to this, imagine how this could lower health care costs. No more bypass surgeries! I can eat all the Big Macs I want and then go to Krispy Creme for dessert. Sounds too good to be true.

A lot of top docs now believe the problem isn’t with high cholesterol itself - the plaque build-up is caused by inflammation on the artery linings, and the inflammation is from the foods we eat.
#1 culprit being sugar.
Not a doc, never played one on TV, but did have a triple-bypass after years of being a runner. Never had heart issues of any kind, but when they discovered a defective aortic valve and went in to replace it, they said I had blockage and while in there they were replacing 3 arteries. I was shocked.
Because I had a runner’s heart in great shape, I was walking a mile a day one week after open heart surgery; 3 miles a day 2 weeks after, 5 miles a day 3 weeks after surgery. Running again 13 weeks from surgery.

More BS from the drug industry. The Inuit (Eskimos) have a diet almost 100% fat and they have no heart disease. Or cancer. Eliminate sugar, grains and processed foods.

Even coming from Hopkins it might be a bit too early...maybe even *way* too early...to starting eating three meals a day at Krispy Kreme.

Several years ago, I suffered a very nearly fatal heart attack, so I find this article interesting.
Many people take one adult aspirin a day which is also said to prevent a heart attack.
I swallow one every morning now.

The best guarantee against heart disease is a high HDL. As close to 100 as you can get it. Best produced by ingesting enough Omega-3’s.

Check out Vitamin K2 MK-7. It does what these people are claiming, according to studies.

I’d be willing to take any medication that comes out of this research, so long as it doesn’t give me the troubles statins do. I can’t handle the side effects from them.
