HESPERIA (CBSLA.com) — A campaign sign for a 32-year-old Lake Arrowhead woman running for a state Assembly seat in the 33rd District is stirring up controversy in the high desert.
Michelle Ambrozic’s sign depicts a woman holding a rifle with the message: Less Government. Lower Taxes. Liberty.
“My belief [is] that the Second Amendment is very important to protect,” she said. “It’s not a gimmick. I think there are not enough people out there talking about the Second Amendment who are running for office, and I find it disturbing that somebody would say this is disturbing,” she said.
Fellow candidate Rick Roelle, of Apple Valley, who has worked for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for the past 32 years, called Ambrozic’s sign a publicity stunt.
“I’m very pro-Second Amendment, but it sends a message out there today. That’s a sniper rifle; that’s used to kill people at 1,000 yards or more. We just had a young man that was killed in Victorville with a sniper rifle less than a year ago. What kind of message does that send?” he said.
The voters have also taken notice of the sign.
“A lady just with a gun shooting? I feel like that’s the last thing we need,” Anthony Hidalgo said.
“The first thing I thought when I saw the picture off the street is I was like, ‘That’s a pretty bad*** picture.’ Girls are just as strong as guys,” Nikki Lopez said.

Doofus assumes that the holder of that firearm is a murderer. Nice. So based on that, she shouldn’t hold a knife. Or any other object that could be used to kill someone. She ought to print a picture of her opponent holding a spoon stating that spoons make people fat and fat people die.
