I bet adding a generous drenching of Sriracha would work. I invite someone else to try.

I have a grocery store near me that discounts it’s cuts of meat the day of the ‘sell by’ date. That’s as far as I get for edible dog food for humans. 1/2 cup of cubed beef or chicken or pork, 2-3 tablespoons of brown rice or diced cooked potato, 1-2 tablespoons of canned pumpkin or yams and a bit of salad greens that I usually have near spoiling point in the fridge. It’s cheaper than $1 a day for a medium semi-active dog.

Other than that, he always eats a portion of what I eat. Eggs and cottage cheese for breakfast, popcorn or Tortilla chips with a bit of fruit for lunch.

Sriracha would work for most but just to be sure, try the Thai approach to steamed fish. Pound together about two cups prick kee nu chilies with two cups garlic, mix in some shrimp paste and cilantro. Steam the topping with the dead fish. It won’t kill you but you’ll wish it had.
