I hiked upriver yesterday afternoon, looking for that park again-I found the way to drive to it, but I don’t see the point of the park if I can’t walk to it. There are lots of trails leading all over the place down there, but the ones leading to the neighborhood park are not marked.

Since there was no one else around, I wandered around in the woods till dinnertime, picking mint that escaped from cultivation and grows wild, and watching wildlife-I saw the flock of wild turkeys again, and a blue heron fishing in shallow water-but no park gate. The whole place was like the twilight zone with the cloudy, misty weather and just the noise of the water...
