A 15 year old eighth grader. it is not that unusual for a boy to be kept back in an early grade, like first grade... or even kindergarten...

Several of my grandsons friends are almost 14 and in the seventh grade. They all go a private church school, are very polite, do well in school and great kids. Their parents chose to start them a year later. Great idea for boys IMO, particularly if they have a female teacher who has no male children or ever had a brother. None of these boys are on ADHD meds, unlike too many of the students in public schools who are 14 year olds in the eighth grade.
