It’s not just the “you betcha”s and “ya”s. They started putting in “sounds good”. Which I use at least 10 times each day. Hard to hear yourself as comedic relief.
Oh it’s quaint and colloquial.
Eh, as a 30 year Minnesotan (native South Dakotan), I embrace it. I don't feel like they're mocking me. It is what it is. Now east coast friends that call a car, a cah, that's funny. Life's too short to worry about that stuff. Sounds good, right? :)
I grew up in Wisconsin which is close enough to Minnesota. One my of brothers lives in Hawaii. He watched the movie with his wife who is from Hawaii. All through the movie my brother laughed at the language and accents. His wife could not understand what he was laughing at. He told her she’d have to have been from that part of the country to understand.
