I made a deal with garage guy to take care of maintenance and get reimbursed, having it deducted from lease money-we both benefit from large repairs because of what I do for a living, having other subs at the lower price they charge me.

Since it appears that I’m on this property for awhile, I’m planting some hardy species of brightly colored and varieties of cut flowers in the fancy beds that haven’t had anything growing in them for years-I already planted veggies in the ones where the deer can’t get them. I might as well be at least reasonably pleased, if I can’t be delighted with the surroundings...

Trouble in Montana.
We have so many flower seedlings growing here: flax, marigolds, candytuft, bachelors buttons. I have put most outside into bigger pots since they were outgrowing their spaces. I would grow lots of zinnias if I was tossing seeds outside. They are so hardy and come up in so many sunny colors. I also love portulaca and verbena and you cannot go wrong with Mexican heather. I can't grow it here and miss it.

Sounds like you are making the best of your situation and making it homey at least. I love flowers. Bought myself an Easter basket of violets at wegmans and a lilac bc it smells so heavenly. Xshub bought me an Easter lily and I have the hydrangeas that I bought for the shower. All still inside bc it’s still been cold at night. I had thought about planting the pots on my back deck last weekend but thankfully put it off bc we had the cold snap and frost threat this week. Probably next w/e I will start.
Xsboy and xshub are playing golf. I made a cake and the borscht is simmering. Still have to make the frosting for the cake. Xs girls are scrapbooking for the cousin who is getting married in June with pix from the shower.
OH! and the cousin brought Xsteen back a shower present from xshubs cousin up in Utica (she attended Megan’s shower up there last w/e). It is a personalized apostolic blessing from pope Francis— has their names their wedding date and the church where the marriage will be performed. Truly very special gift and so thoughtful. This cousin of xshub has been to Italy literally every other yr or so. Like 30+ times, and most recently this past spring. Xshubs BIL had emailed asking xsfiances full name and the address of the church, now I see it was on this cousins behalf. She suggested (she also got one for Megan and her fiancé) that the girls each have it displayed somewhere on the altar during the ceremony.
