A herd of hippos was no match for this throng of hungry crocodiles that descended upon the unsuspecting beasts at the South Luangwa National Park in Eastern Zambia.

No kidding? Whenever I see a nature documentary about hippos, they come across as some of the most dangerous, ill-tempered animals in Africa, and perfectly capable of biting a full-grown crocodile in half.

I don’t think hippos are impressed by crocs at all.

Yeah, anything I have ever seen about them interacting crocs get the heck out of dodge if an adult hippo comes their way, baby hippos excepted.

Agreed. You may have also seen the series where mother hippo pushes her calf up on top of feeding crocs, and the crocs do not touch the calf. I have learned repeatedly that crocs give way to hippos all the time.
