I believe that ranchers and farmers have a great deal of respect for life. They have a much closer view of life and death than most of us. I am aware, but only vaguely, where my beef slices come from.

And, OK, I give up - where, exactly, did the dog bite you when you were arrested?

No.

I have known people who were bitten by police dogs simply because they have a fear of dogs and the training of the dogs is insufficient for them to distinguish between a fleeing criminal, and a bystander with a phobia of dogs who runs instictively. Police dog bites can tear up someone who is frightened and trying to get free.

A police dog is like a rifle without even iron sites on it.

Some are better than others but at the end of the day they should only be used for locating things or in situations where innocent bystanders are not even a possibility.

And, Human life is so precious that God took on human form to die for humanity. That should never, ever be cheapened by attempting to raise the value of a mere animal to that of a human being.
