Reports from Slavyansk say that the army troops sent to the eastern Ukrainian city for an anti-terrorist operation are leaving en masse. Some troops are openly voicing support for the eastern Ukrainians, while others are speaking out against a war.
According to Interfax, citing local self-defense activists, some 300 Ukrainian troops agreed to lay down their weapons and go home following negotiations in Slavyansk.
We managed to negotiate with them. About 300 military only some of those who closed around the city decided to lay down their arms and go home, a self-defense activist was quoted as saying.
Conflicting reports are emerging about whether the activists would or would not allow the troops to keep their weapons and APCs. According to Western media journalists present at the scene, the locals would not allow them to take back the APCs surrendered earlier, but the soldiers were allowed to march away with their rifles.
The people cheered the troops as they started leaving Slavyansk.

so McCain wants to to give weapons to people who will just lay them down. great idea.
Reminds me of the line about the “used ARVN rifles”...
Putin could get the Eastern Ukraine without firing a shot.
It reminds me of the time the Serbs surrendered in Slovenia (where I guess they thought they were fighting Muslims to hear their propagandists tell it) and were shipped home on buses.
Apparently, they couldn’t find Russian terrorists to fight.
This is the beginning of the end of the Maidan regime.
Information war is going on and RT, while never being trustworthy, is extra untrustworthy now. Parties are interested in producing the propaganda to moralize their supporters and demoralize opponents. Ukraine claims the videos were staged.
Here is something humorous from Russian propaganda department. Google translated link from Russian to English.
Notice the comments below and see how much happiness this fake news creates in Ruskies.

I disagree. It is the pet project of One World and Obamacon agitators at all levels, from the people who run Soros down to the lowliest humpbacked keyboard commando. The putschist Maidanheads will be propped up until rump Ukraine looks like a Caucasian variant of North Korea.
The Ukrainian government really doesn’t gain anything fighting with these village drunks now. I would think the Russian commandos are gone except for a few “advisors”. They will pop up elsewhere shortly.

Aww... Doesn’t it just SUCK when things like this happen?

Looks like those troops showed restraint. Funny that it doesn’t satisfy the Russians.
No one set anyone on fire. I guess those people are still in parliament.
But the bloodthirsty ones speak Russian. History repeats.
History repeats.

Just like reflux.

Some here at FR (the Soronistas, McCainiacs and Obamanistas especially) will not like that link.
It doesn’t fit the Obama/Soros/NGO’s/Globalist/McCainiac template.
Thanks for pointing out the source. I’ve been defending Crimea’s secession on many threads, but reliable news sources are almost non-existent. So far, the Swedish-controlled, English-language Moscow Times seems the most likely to present varying points of view. RT, the Guardian, and any US source are ridiculously bad.
Yup. I saw one of your Russian comrades use the word Holodomor with quotation marks this morning. No one does historical airbrushing like the Bolshies.
I agree, and the best way to stop the Russians is to bomb their vodka distilleries and liquor stores. A nation of drunks ruled by a small clique of crony capitalist kleptomaniac gangsters (pure Putinism) is only going to be happy when it’s smashed.
