There is a midwestern restaurant, Arni’s, that serves barbecue pizza Saint Louis-style. I prefer Chicago style pizza, but their BBQ pizza is very, very good.
Crust must be perfect. My local makes a terrible crust - overinflated, floury and tough. Yuck! My dog chews it for hours before giving up.
I’m going with another local - Brothers’ Pizza in Red Bank, NJ.
Sounds interesting. What all do they put on it?
John’s is considered one of the best if not the best. I’ve never been there - too crowded!
Here's a thread from 2006. There are probably others before and since.
It looks like it's time to start a new thread! :)
Sausage, onion, cheese, and BBQ sauce. Simple and delicious.
I’ve tried to make it at home, and it turns out terribly. I am obviously not using the right type of sauce. I’ve not ever had another one that tastes anywhere close to as good.
And here I've been thinking that Chef Boyardee was French...
;-)
BTW, I recently saw some of those ChefB "pizza kits" on the shelf at Aldi's. I haven't had one of those since the early '80s. Hey, isn't Aldi's a German company? Hmm.
Never been to that particular place. Last pizza I had in Marin was in Tiburon, probably 40 years ago. Lived in Mill Valley, San Anselmo, Kentfield and several other places for short periods. It may be under occupation, but it will always be home.
I've always liked Strictly-To-Go in Contra Costa. Skipolini's in Clayton was good, too.
The Garlic Knot in Lakewood CO on Wadsworth is pretty good. Order the Chelsea. Yum.
Yeah, we hit them once a month or so. Get a Papa's Favorite, add a little EVOO and cook it at our leisure.
Can't beat the price.
The best pizza s whatever is in front of me.
We were there a few years ago. Fun place. Renovated pentecostal church.
It’s really good. I hope you csn get there someday.
Dang, I’m getting hungry.
That’s another way of putting it!!!
Where I live, unless I’m making it myself or want a 40 minutes round trip, the best pizza is found in the frozen food aisle of the supermarket.
They were correct. Pizza originated in China.
Nope, Shield's here in S.E. Michigan.......
I love pizza. Best pizza: The Cape Cod Cafe in Brockton, Massachusetts.
