Awesome win by the Pens.
Rangers and Flyers play today AND if need, tomorrow.
2 playoff games in 2 days. I have seen that happen before.
And then, I guess the next round will begin Saturday with the first set of matches followed up on Sunday.
Some of the newer players have some sandpaper in their game. Bortuzzo and Stempniak don't mind being physical. It's something the Pens will need. I like Gibbons too but he has to realize this isn't the AHL he needs to be less physical just for self preservation. Round two should be fun (I hope)
For tonight, go Rangers!
F Wayne Simmonds draws first blood for the Flyers on the PP in the 1st Period of Game 6 in Philadelphia
while G Mason shuts the door on a shot by the Rangers' Stralman, as the host team leads New York 1-0 at Intermission.
I was so mad the Pens didn’t go for Simmonds when the Kings were shopping him then Philly got him! Darn, he looks great tonight! The NBC announcer was wrong about him, he’s a big guy power forward.
He would have been perfect for Crosby’s right wing...sigh. Winger envy is a terrible thing.
The Kings went on a tear surely and not to take away from that but their 1st go-ahead goal, I’m not so sure about. Home-cooking or good call?
“Sharks coach Todd McLellan, on Williams’ jab-in goal: “We got cheated. Simple as that.””
http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/24544509/video-kings-take-lead-on-controversial-justin-williams-goal (Video of that controversial goal, no, I don’t think it was proper but it seems conceivable that an error like that could be made. I think the Sharks gave up at least another goal after that.)
A Flyers' Wayne Simmonds hat-trick in the 2nd Period of Game Six book-ends a breakaway goal by Erik Gustafsson,
giving Philadelphia a 4-0 lead at the second Intermission vs. the New York Rangers, trying to force Game 7 tomorrow at MSG.
"Finally, after a long wait for both the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens, they will get their second-round series underway on Thursday.
The NHL announced that Game 1 of their Atlantic Division final will take place on Thursday at TD Garden in Boston. Game time is listed as 7:30 ET and will be shown on NBCSN in the States, CBC and RDS in Canada."
And you won’t hear a white-chocolate “Barkley” make any idiot references w/r/t this sport .....
Yea, I like that about hockey.
(let me know if you want on or off the ping list)

Game 7 at the Garden!
About Gibbons - I saw when he got hurt. He took a forearm to the side of the head (I forget by whom) and the other side of his head hit the glass.
When he walked back to the locker room it looked like he had a stiff neck. Not surprising. But he should be ready to go for the next round.
Go Flyers!
You'll never catch me cheering for either team - just hoping the winner comes out of it with as many bumps and bruises as possible.
Great article...Thanks for linking!
James Neal has made a huge difference-his injury downtime was a big loss. I can’t “read” jussi when Potash interviews him—language issues or just annoyed/ambivalence?
I detest Rangers...but it HATE the flyers (and all things Filthydelphia).

Wishing FR had a “like” button :)
I’m just biding my time until The Bruins beat the Habs.
