Monk was Episcopal who told me Jesus lived for me. His message was more powerful than his blood—the death was only a confirmation of his message.

Nothing in heaven or earth is more powerful than the blood of Jesus, blood which is capable of washing away our sins and making us righteous before God.

Oh! I wasn't aware that the Episcopalian Church had monks. (I learned something ew, thanks!) My opinion, still, is that a Catholic or Orthodox monk would not (or should not) have said that. I join you in worshipful love and adherence to Jesus' morals and message. But I don't think His Death was "merely" confirmation --- though it was confirmation.

It was primarily the sacrificial offering of His life to atone for our sins. Confirmation of His message ---yes, that too. I don't see these ends as being in competition. Peace to you.

I meant, something “new.” Arthritic fingers on the keys.

Episcopal — you’ve said it all. Might as well be Unitarian, whose prime message seems to be, “Jesus was a nice guy.” The Episcopal Presiding Bishop said there are many ways to God. No, Ms.Bishop, there is only One Way to God, according to Jesus.

Jesus had to die and shed his blood, otherwise we could not be saved. Otherwise, the message would have no meaning.
