I'm not completely eliminating it, but about 90 percent eliminating it.
I'm well aware of the "part of the government/military
that quote 'don't exist' ", and I know of their capabilities.
We don't need to confiscate another country's aircraft, because we have the full capabilities to "wipe" any aircraft of ALL identifying marks.
Are we still even in command of Diego Garcia, or
did we pull out ?
"As the United Kingdom owns the island, there are British Representatives on Diego Garcia, responsible for law and order on the island.
The British Representative, or BritRep, acts as the Commanding Officer for Naval Party 1002, as well as the local magistrate and judge for all legal matters dealing with British law.
Under his cognizance are the British customs personnel, Royal Overseas Police Officers (ROPOs) and a compliment of Royal Marines, who patrol and protect the entire BIOT."
Notice:
" August 16, 2006According to the August 25, 2006, issue of "The Air Force Times",the USAF ended deployment of bombers supporting OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM at Diego Garcia on August 16, moving the remaining B-1 operations to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.
The change puts the bombers "thousands" of miles closer to Afghanistan, reducing flight times and aerial tanker support, thus saving $132 million annually.
A "small caretaker group" of Airmen remains on the island to maintain facilities in a state of readiness for future deployments.
The bomber deployments began on September 14, 2001, three days after the attacks of 9-11.
Bomber operations from Diego Garcia lasted four years and 11 months, one year and three months longer than the U.S. was in WWII.
As late as August 14, 2006, the USAF was reporting Diego Garcia based sorties dropping ordnance on enemy positions in Afghanistan."
