Hello. I am member of Mozilla's development team and these postings here lately force me now to react. Let me first clarify one thing. I do that because someone has finally to speak out some things... Things which should clearly brought out to the public....
First, the incident about our short time CEO Eich..... many of us do NOT agree with what has happened. There has been a massive amount of pressure inside and outside of Mozilla which brought him to resign from his post.
About the ads in the new tab page... Our reasoning for this is to make us more independent moneywise and influence wise from Google Inc. - the problem is, even with that we still are unable to break free of Google in so many ways sadly!
About Australis and the so called chrome similarity: In business you have to make some compromise to get your income, there are quite a lot dependencies which often stand in the way what you can do or not do!
BUT: I really would lie if i would now say that there would be no suggestions/recommendation/expectancies coming from the side of Google Inc towards us in terms of general feature request or UI features. Which leads to Australis. I can say, without Google Australis would be a hell of more customizable as it is as end result. Again.. many do not agree with Google's influence and would like to see the relationship between Google Inc. and Mozilla terminated!
And last but not least towards this political boycott... Eich's departure is NOT the whole sickness, it is only part of the symptoms which are plaguing Mozilla. Mozilla as it is right now is torn into half. One half often does not like what the other half is planning. This and the massive amount of Third Party organization influence since a long time is leading to things like that which are damaging in a massive way Mozilla's reputation!
In the end many of us as i said do not agree with most of the above mentioned problems, the reason nobody is complaing is because it is like in every other business... criticize the leaders and you are history!
If you really feel the need for a boycott... Do it against Australis, do it against Google's influence and the influence of the ads industry into Mozilla! Stay with Firefox 28 instead of 29 or stay with Seamonkey. Drop your Google Mail, stop use Google search, write Google a message in their groups that you dislike their direct influence in many of Mozilla's business/developement decisions! We have to get independent again!

Again... boycotting because of political reasons changes NOTHING - not when the sickness which plagues the construct goes much more deeper! Don't forget with enough support we can change nearly everything! Help us get healthy again, help us break free of limitations we are suffering right now!
After all we are Mozilla - Doing good is part of our code! And we still have not stopped to be the good guys!

I had heard the number is around 10, or so.. who knows at this point :/ Mozilla is dead to me now anyway... but I (out of curiosity) still check on the messages ever couple of hours... and also noticed they are getting worse about the chart (and message deletes).

Much of the opensource world are anti-Christian minions of globalism.
All the “community”-based concepts are simply designed to be a religion which followers believe in as a replacement for believing in God. Thus they become useful tools that will do things to support activist causes, and, even though they are intelligent to some degree, can’t see that they are simple cogs in a groupthink wheel.
Take Chris McAvoy, for example. Read his linkedin profile. He was VP of Technology at Threadless prior to working for Mozilla.
If you look at Threadless, it’s globalist/empty-headed-activist, it’s based in Chicago and is plugged into elite society in Chicago. From 2005 to 2009, Harper Reed was CTO of Threadless - Reed was CTO for Barack Obama’s 2012 “campaign”.
It’s essential to understand that it’s not just Mozilla. Many for-profit companies today are dutiful minions of globalism, and practically all non-profits are. Non-profits exist because the globalist/financial elites guided tax legislation and regulations to include provisions to allow them - and thus they can do work which is part of globalist monopolist agendas, but their portion of the P&L is exempt from taxes. Basically, one can have hundreds or even thousands of workers in one’s “foundation” which work on projects that earn or save your profit-making corporations billions, and your “donations” to your foundation are tax deductible and your foundation itself pays no income tax. In the case of “open source”, it mostly does two things: 1) it gets very smart geeks to come up with software that is key to your globalist operations (things like big data) and then simply “give it” to the top IT companies for free, instead of starting up their own companies and selling the software and becoming seriously wealthy, and 2) in the same vein, it pretty much stops new software “bootstrap” startups from getting off the ground, thus helping to ensure the monopoly of the current software giants. The mantra is repeated endlessly that it’s “services” that you should sell, not software as a product. You’re supposed to write great software, GIVE IT AWAY, then get paid by the hour to help major companies implement and use your software. Only a “smart” person would fall for such a stupid ruse.
Even many professing Christians in the IT community and many other industries - are really servants of globalism but don’t realize it. This is because the doctrine of most Church denominitions had its direction changed a very long time ago and has been drifting towards globalism. Support of globalist organizations like UNICEF is an earmark, as is acceptance of all sorts of sins. Most Churches today are simply an arm of globalist organizations and foundations; some even have solid ties with CIA.
As far as the browser/web community goes, most browser organizations/companies are all cast from the mold.
I started thinking about this when the Mozilla incident went down.. I never thought of the groupthink like a cult, I just left my personal stuff out of it (I have been on PCs since 1980). But, lots of things starting making sense.. especially how lots of the younger people don’t seem to have guidance, so they look for something/someone that they can feel a part of.. they can feel like someone special, like be a part of something (talk about short sightedness and naivety :/ ).
Not sure if I’ve ignored it all of these years, or just never saw it.
I wonder if someone can confirm that those are real employees?
But it doesn’t really matter. It’s a California firm, it’s bound to have some gays working for it. That’s not the point.
The point is that as long as Eich hadn’t unfairly discriminated against someone at work, He is entitled to have his opinion and to support political causes. Whether Eich contributed to block legislation that would have watered down the definition of marriage, or contributed to a Chrisian church that preached homosexuality is a sin, or contributed to a conservative political group, none of those should have disqualified him.
Mozilla’s board apologized for appointing him, instead of issuing a statement supporting him. Consequently Mozilla is now viewed as anti-traditional marriage, pro-special rights for gays.
Opera is working well. It’s not crashing as much as Firefox was.
I’m interested in your post from a different angle: Where did you get your ping list? A script?
I went post by post on this thread and pinged anyone that may have been interested in the names.. I don’t keep a ping list, but there are a few FReepers I keep on the top of my head (for the right topics) ;^)
You also need Firefox for it to work, I guess. I really liked the FR enhance scripts, but there don’t seem to be versions for other browsers.

I have it working on Pale Moon (Linux version... but it will def work on Win version, if you are using Windows). :^)
Also, using a ‘User Agent Switcher’ so Pale Moon doesn’t show up as FF 24.0 ;^)

In normal businesses and non-profits, that’s just not done, of course.
As far as young people go, most fall for anything that is the “cool” of its day.
We are born into sin, and without God, we wind up producing that which is evil. Prior to my conversion, I just didn’t see anything wrong with what I was doing. My morals mostly came from TV, my own attempts at reasoning, and the myths new world order has created. For example, I simply saw nothing wrong with fornication. Now I find the idea revolting.
Globalist/activist didn’t make much headway into the IT world until the late ‘90s.
As you probably recall, in the 80’s, it was almost an exclusively entrepreneurial field, so conservatism abounded, except arguably less so in academia. Even if one was not a software entrepreneur, one would have a positive image of the idea of being one. You certainly could be a conservative and work in IT and other IT folks would mostly give you a reasonable amount of respect.
Demand was so high in the later ‘90s that there was an enormous flood of newbies that did not “pay their dues”, learn the fundamentals. And they came from all sorts of educational backgrounds. It was a gold rush that brought in people who otherwise would have zero interest in computers.
Graduates of the nwo elite schools (Stanford, Harvard, etc.) of course are culturally driven to elite success and have pretty much carte blanche from nwo investment world of wall street, so in late 90s, and even after most of the work was done in 2000, even until today - they are constantly pushing grandiose pump and dumps and will sell their soul cheaply to get one. Ergo, we see facebook and google happily in bed with the gubmint spy machine, along with all the old stalwart gubmint quid pro quo partners like the telcos, consultants, hardware, etc.
All the lesser minions, in the trenches of “social media”, etc., have been indoctrinated into the global groupthink, but they don’t know enough of how things work to see the true ends of globalism, for which they are such willing pawns. Having grown up in an anti-Christian culture, they see no problem with rejecting God. The are mostly not aware of how the Bible tells us that “the world”, the chief evil of which are globalist leaders - hates and oppresses the poor, and this angers God, who loves the poor and oppressed. Many youngsters listen to their globalist mentors and peers, who tell them the Bible is harsh and that globalism’s people are the “do-gooders”, instead of studying the Bible honestly themselves and finding out the truth.

BTW, you can run user scripts on Chrome.
It used to be as simple as clicking on a link to a JavaScript file ending in .user.js. Chrome would grab the contents, auto-generate a manifest file, and package the script into an instant junior-grade extension. No need for Greasemonkey!
But a problem arose, exacerbated by the rise of social media sites such as Facebook. Too many naive users were being gulled into installing malware packaged into user scripts. So, beginning with version 21, Chrome restricted the auto-install behavior to extensions on the Google App Store.
Now, if you want to install a script not on the App Store, you have to do it quite deliberately. Download the file onto your local file system (e.g., your Desktop or your Downloads folder). Then open the browser's extensions page (chrome://extensions), tick the Developer mode box, drag the file from your Finder or Explorer window to the the extensions page, and approve its installation. There will be a notation "Not from Chrome Web Store" beside it. See these two StackOverflow answers from last October and March 2011.
Believe it or not, I had never tried the above with the Tree Viewer. But I just did, and it worked. (More or less — it's failing to catch key chords for some reason. I'll have to look at it.)
I've fallen into the habit of running both Firefox and Chrome. E.g., FR in Firefox and the current article, etc., in a Chrome window alongside. For a while, Firefox was having a serious memory-leak bug. It would just gobble memory until you restarted. However, that was fixed a while back, and now Chrome is the memory hog, although Chrome's process per page architecture mitigates the problem somewhat.
Have had a problem with ‘editing’ my FR homepage for about 6 + months now... :/ sent several messages to AdminMods.. couldn’t help.. (btw, wiping cache shouldn’t have been a prob.. am on linux, and everything is wiped when I log out/shutdown..)..
The NEW situation (Mozilla/FF/(and, of course Google, which I have avoided for a couple of years anyway)all purged from my system).. Still couldn’t edit my own FReepPage (With a fresh install of Pale Moon)..
Anyway.. opened up Opera (still hate it).. and was able to edit/fix a bad link. Saved the edit.. and it worked....
Started Pale Moon again. And, again, couldn’t edit my own FR Homepage o.O ... must be one of the add-ons I brought from FF :/
Anyway.. IF anyone else has a problem editing their own homepage, just suggest them using Opera (still hate it) to edit and save..
