I applaud the effort to bring instant replay to baseball.
It needs to be refined, but there have been too many wrong calls evident in recent years, one of the most egregious of which was Jim Joyce's blown call on what clearly should have been the final out on Armando Galarraga perfect no hitter.
And then there's Jerry Meals.

If I came to believe that umpire's bad calls were based on dishonesty (to the extent that, say, federal government is dishonest) I would have absolutely no further interest in watching.
I think the officiating errors are human, but no longer necessary to accept in the age of video replay.
