Bingo! He can lie up his sleeve because 1) it will never come up for a vote and 2) if miraculously Reid did bring it to the floor for a vote, Machin would be given a pass to vote for it because his vote would be meaningless - the bill would not pass regardless.
He’s a political chameleon, but the GOP hasn’t found a first tier candidate to take him on-yet.
