I read somewhere that they don’t.
They don’t use it at Sidwell Friends either, where Obama’s girls go. They just use it at public schools and some misguided private schools, which will probably dump it down the road. Public schools have a harder time getting rid of bad curriculum, so unless public school parents threaten to pull their kids en masse, it will be around for years.
You are correct.
Except what is happening is that ALL state testing, the SAT, ACT and AP exams are being re-aligned to reflect the CC curriculum.
These exams are important for college admissions so to do well, students must be well-versed in CC standards.
They are being re-aligned to “catch” homeschoolers and private schools, to make them toe the line so to speak.
They’re making sure NO ONE escapes this evil plan.
My kids’ private school has started using it this year.
I’m pretty sure that is why we are having problems with 11th grade US history. It’s the strangest class we’ve ever had at the school. It’s mostly projects outside of class. The class time is spent reading “primary sources” which are things like journals or other first hand accounts of what was going on at the time.
I think they are using it in English also, but that teacher is more experienced.
I heard a lot of Catholic schools are using C C
